God provides for an abundance of food in Malawi

Climbing For Christ was introduced to the Far & Wide Children’s Home when the Malawi orphanage had a month’s worth of food stolen in October 2009. Pastor Duncan Nyozani, a C4C member since early 2009, contacted us to ask for prayer. The result of our prayer was God’s call for us to replace the stolen food.
A few months later, I led a small team to Malawi to survey the work there. God again called us to serve the children and Project 1:27
Seven years later, we went back to the future. Duncan emailed on Oct. 9, saying: “Am saddened to tell you that robbers came last midnight and broke the door of our store room where we keep all foods and materials for the orphanage. Please, we need prayers as we have no food to feed these kids now. There are worse things going on during this famine in the country. Just wanted to let you know this situation. There is lot of (thievery) in the community due to this severe drought and famine.”
God again provided through Climbing For Christ and we were able to supply Duncan with an additional $1,000 to replace the children’s food.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” – John 10:10

Only a few days before this robbery, Duncan had appealed for prayer for $3,000 a month for the next six months to feed the hundreds in his two churches. This prayer was answered immediately when a C4C Canada member donated $20,000.
“What a miracle!” Duncan said at the time. “I am very much excited to hear this good news.”
We are equally excited to be the bearers of such wonderful news.
Earlier this year we learned of the death of one of our dedicated Project 1:27 sponsors, Janet Norton of Newark, NY, USA. Janet sponsored two children, Ephraim Kapito and Catherine James, with gifts of $100 a month. Ephraim and Catherine are in need of a new sponsor or sponsors.
“Project 1:27 was a cause dear to Janet’s heart,” her sister Jean Hutchinson told us. “May God bless you all as you carry out His work in Malawi.”
