Mission Moments: Peru

Returning to the scene of the sublime

Climbing For Christ’s Peruvian missionary, Jaime Servant, returned in September to an area visited by our Mission: Peru 2015 team in July. Here is his report:

I arrived in Jancapampa village (Pomabamba province) the morning of Thursday, Sept. 3, and hiked about one hour to get to the home of the Vega family (Victoria, Dina and Enrique, who received the Lord Jesus Christ in their hearts under prayer during Mission: Peru 2015). I met Victoria’s husband, Guillermo, who had not received the Lord Jesus during our mission outreach. But I was invited to stay with them so we had a precious time to share His Word and during the evening we had a special home worship. We praised, worshiped, and shared His Word and the victory in His name because Guillermo received the Lord Jesus.

God put on my heart to move to Gloria’s house the next day. She also accepted Jesus during our missionary expedition. I met her parents, Francisca and Juan, who are Christians and gave an example to Gloria years before she was touched by the Holy Spirit.

On Friday, as I walked I met new believer Fidela, who accepted Jesus during our outreach. She was feeling some body pains so I ministered to her and prayed to God for His healing. She was healed. Another day I visited Fidela again and saw other new believers, Hermelinda and Jorge, and we shared in His Word and prayed together.

I visited a farmer named Zacarias, who received Jesus, and I prayed for his hip pains. Physicians told him his condition was chronic, but the Great Physician gave him healing. Praise God!

Also, I knew a farmer named Octaviano, a believer who is 56 years old. He asked me to pray for his head pains so I ministered to him. Then he asked me for a Bible, which I will bring on my next outreach to Huillca village.

Later in the month I visited Chalhua (Yungay province). I met with Alisson’s mother Taina, who told me she would be in Chalhua until the end of the year to get some medical treatment in a provincial hospital because it was too expensive at the hospital in Lima.

Every day I was praying at His alter in the new church building. I would pray for two hours for Taina’s healing – that she would not suffer epilepsy attacks. She was not healed, but praise God.

I gave praise to the Lord for Alisson, who took the first position in her secondary grade in school. She was awarded the Medal of Excellence, Honor in School Knowledge for winning a test of more than 300 students in three schools in the Yanama district. I have seen His hand of mercy on her in her studies and in her great talent in volleyball.

May we continue to pray for Taina’s healing by the Father so Alisson does not suffer when her mother is under attack.

May the work of C4C – the following of seeding and the harvesting of souls for Christ – continue.

“And whatever you do, in Word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:17 (ESV)
