Kilimanjaro Chapter training (first quarter 2026)
Africa coordinator Damson Samson witnessed the Spirit leading 48 people to faith in Jesus, the sick being healed, and a community of people (Maasai) often neglected being shown the love of God. When he left Malawi for his 40th quarterly visit for disciple-making training of Kilimanjaro Chapter guides and porters since answering the call to serve the Lord through Climbing For Christ in 2014, he could not imagine the fruit of this trip.
The Big Idea
What began in the classroom as a teaching was put into practice on Mount Kilimanjaro by Climbing For Christ’s guides and porters, who conducted another successful outreach expedition.
HIStoric start that was years in the making
This was the first on-the-mountain training of our Kilimanjaro Chapter in Tanzania and the Mulanje Massif Chapter in neighboring Malawi. Our goal is to have every one of the 160 or so guides and porters in our chapters trek, be taught, and do outreach on their respective mountains before the end of the year. Unexpected results saw 57 people guided to Jesus.

Faith in action moving mountains
Kilimanjaro will always have a special place in our hearts because this is where, in 1998, God birthed the idea of His ministry, Climbing For Christ. This time (our 14th expedition to Tanzania) was particularly satisfying. Even though our team was stormed off the mountain for the first time in nine treks up the 19,341-foot (5,895-meter) peak, we were blessed to interact more than ever with the guides and porters working with us.
‘Don’t be afraid. Just have faith’
Mission: Nepal 2021 was long, hard, full of obstacles – and very fruitful. Jesus promises us if we remain in Him, He will remain in us, and through this abiding “we will produce much fruit.” We just needed to have faith.
