Mission: Kilimanjaro 2016

Damson Samson lives in southern Malawi, but most of his work for Climbing For Christ is done in northeastern Tanzania. He became Climbing For Christ’s missionary to East Africa in March 2014 and has been sent to the Kilimanjaro area seven times from mid-2014 through 2015.

Damson is looking forward to Mission: Kilimanjaro 2016, which will occur in August. A Climbing For Christ team will join Damson in teaching and encouraging guides and porters who are part of the Kilimanjaro Chapter (formed in 2008). Team members also will climb Kilimanjaro. This will be our ninth Kilimanjaro expedition since 2007.

The primary goal of the Kilimanjaro Chapter has been evangelism training for guides and porters working on Africa’s biggest and most popular mountain so they may be ambassadors for Jesus, willing to share Him with non-Christian co-workers and tens of thousands of trekkers from around the world.

“Sharing the Gospel in mountains, this is not a small thing,” Damson exclaimed. “This is more vibrant than a church. Its outreach (may) bring revival to many nations around the world.” Amen!

PRAY that God would continue to use brother Damson to teach and inspire guides and porters from the Kilimanjaro Chapter to witness to others on and around the mountain. We lift Mission: Kilimanjaro 2016 and the opportunities for those GO-ing to provide instruction and encouragement.

GIVE to support the work among Kilimanjaro guides and porters in Tanzania. It costs about US$1,500 to send Damson to the Kilimanjaro area every other month. Climbing For Christ also supports Damson and his family in southern Malawi.

GO on Mission: Kilimanjaro (Aug. 19-31). Cost is estimated at US$2,100 plus airfare. Email info@ClimbingForChrist.org to express an interest and to request a mission application.
