Photo of the Week: Nepal

“Those are the people who are here to ruin our religion,” the Buddhist monk muttered as he walked away from our team in Simikot, a town in Nepal’s northwestern district of Humla. We were there to dedicate a newly built church (the district’s first and our fourth blessed build in Nepal).

In 2012, God led us to Humla, where we met seven Christian men in one village and a brother and sister who believed in Jesus in another village. They were the only Christians in an area the size of the U.S. states of Delaware or Rhode Island. In a few short years, the church has grown to a few hundred.

This “Photo of the Week” is the cover photo in our quarterly magazine, The Climbing Way (Volume 37, December 2016), which has been published and should be coming to mail boxes soon.
