Mission: Nepal 2021

The Word

"The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight. Every valley shall be filled And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough ways smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’”
– Isaiah 3:4-6 (NKJV)

Mission: 2024

GO outside the camp

By Gary Fallesen, founding president, Climbing For Christ

The author of Hebrews – unknown, but we like to think it was written by Aquila’s wife Priscilla – concluded that book with some valuable advice. As we were recently reading Hebrews 13:13, I felt the Lord’s instruction for His church: “We must go out to him, then, outside the camp, bearing the abuse he experienced” (NET).

We are to leave behind the things of this world to follow Him even when it means we must suffer. Our call is to “GO!” Make disciples. Baptize. Teach. Obey. And He will be with us always, even to the end of the age.

Climbing For Christ likes to GO outside the camp and follow Jesus to unreached people in difficult places. As I wrote in the introduction to Mission: Nepal 2024 (click on the link below), “The easy places are gone. All that’s left in the business of reaching unreached people are hard places.”

We have a full calendar of GO-ing, making disciples, baptizing, teaching, and obeying. Welcome to Mission: 2024!

  • Kilimanjaro, Jan. 19-Feb. 2 – Training guides and porters “Communicating the Bible,” walking in the Spirit, and delivering the Good News on the Marangu Route on Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
  • Nepal, May 1-18 – Trekking in the Kangchenjunga area to reach unreached Sherpa people and caring for orphans.
  • Malawi, June – Training guides and porters to be disciple-makers on the Mulanje mountain.
  • Peru, June 16-July 2 – Trekking in the Cordillera Huayhuash.
  • Turkey, August – Trekking new Kurdish areas in eastern Turkey. Information for this mission is posted on members-only pages (log-in required).
  • Japan, September – A new outreach still being planned.
  • Indonesia, September – The continuation of work around Mount Rinjani on the island of Lombok.
  • Mexico, October – A survey trip in the mountains of Oaxacan in southern Mexico.

Mission work is also ongoing in Haiti, India (log-in required), and Pakistan, although no short-term trips are scheduled to these countries in 2024. Watch for more updates on the Expeditions page

The final Word

“Therefore, go and make disciple of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT)

Dispatches: Nepal 2021

We are conducting our 18th Evangelic Expedition to Nepal from Oct. 13 to Nov. 1. This is our first trip to Nepal since November 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be dedicating the church at Pokhara, and then revisiting churches in Rolpa, Humla, and Kathmandu to teach and preach, equip, and encourage.
