Nationality: Canadian. Occupation: Part-time Minister and Mental Health Therapist. Missions with C4C: Peru 2025.
How long have you climbed? Hiking on and off the last 35 years; have maintained a general fitness level over the years since high school from being a middle-distance runner to doing a variety of sports most days out in nature. I took up distance walking in the last 10 years. My favourite sport is cross country skiing. Come to Canada and do the Canadian Ski Marathon, a distance for everyone! Type of climbing you do: Long distance hikes and skiing. Highlight of climbing career: Walking the Coast to Coast in England, doing the East Coast trail in Newfoundland and completing the Adirondak 46 high peaks.
How long have you been a Christian? Since 1975 when I gave my life to Christ at Frontier Ranch, a Christian camp. Type of ministry you are blessed to serve in: Missions, Bible teaching and discipleship, occasional preaching, and pastoral counselling.
Favorite Scripture verse (and why): Psalm 119:11: “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.” God’s Word is our standard to live by and our moral compass and Jesus is the Living Word. Colossians 2:10: “And you are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power.” The indwelling Christ in the person of the Holy Spirit, dwells within born again believers and empowers us to live godly lives and to be a witness to who Christ is.
Special “God moment” you’d like to share: Too many. God reminding me I am kept by His power, drawing me to intimacy with Himself is more precious than anything.
What does Climbing For Christ mean to you? C4C is an awesome, important ministry GO-ng to where others cannot go or will not go! C4C supports the persecuted Church, which is crucial.
